We need your support to keep these vital programs alive!
Donate to Light Bringer Project & Sci-Fest L.A.'s Short Sci-Fi Writing Competitions
Our short sci-fi competitions inspire thousands of writers. From teens exploring new ideas to experienced writers advancing the genre, we motivate people to think creatively, tell powerful stories, and explore the greatest challenges facing humanity. These stories take us straight to the nexus of social and scientific progress.
The literary arts are suffering massive funding cuts during the pandemic. But we need the imagination, the reflection, the solutions and the empathy that mark the sci-fi genre more than ever. We need you to keep us alive!
The Roswell Award
for adult writers worldwide.
The Tomorrow Prize
for L.A. County high school students.
For checks make them out to “Light Bringer Project” and mail to: ATTN: Patricia Hurley Light Bringer Project - P.O. Box 968 - Pasadena, CA 91102
Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000 by the end of June 2020. This will cover one year of programming for both competitions: prizes, production, outreach, and a stipend for a lead organizer (our general organizers, readers, and judges all volunteer their time).
Funds we raise beyond $10k will go towards the next year (or if we raise even more -- more years)!
